Baby Kate and snow

We got to spend some time with Baby Kate a few weekends ago. Corbin didn't seem to mind me paying attention to a baby other than him. Take a look below, we weren't sure if Corbin was checking Kate out or contemplating stealing her lamb mobile.

Corbin tripped and discovered snow... he didn't like it!
Not even being pulled by Daddy in the baby sled made him happy. Looks like its gonna be a long winter indoors.

Another addition!

Just before Thanksgiving, five weeks early, my new neice graced the world. Kate Noelle was born on Monday November 23rd at 3:40 pm weighing in at 5lbs 5oz and measuring 18 inches. She needed some extra love and affection from the nurses in the Special Care Nursery but after 1 long week for her parents Kate is home and thriving!

I'm a very pround Auntie... Since Kate arrived early her shower hasn't been held yet. This weekend I will get to shower my sister and snuggle my neice! I'm looking forward to it.

New life is the perfect way to start the holiday season!

Arrgh!... hand over yer candy.

Halloween was fun this year! Corbin was a good sport in his pirate costume... who knew the 12-18 month size would be so tight he couldn't get his arms out to break his falls?! Needless to say, we went to a few important houses and took some pictures but the costume came off quickly. He had indents and red marks everywhere... poor baby! Next year we'll get a costume he can try on BEFORE we take the tags off.

Second North Dakota Vacation

Recently Corbin and I took our second trip together to North Dakota. We had a great time visiting family and friends. Corbin picked up a few things on our trip... see video below!

Birthday and Baptism

Here are some pictures from last weekend. Corbin celebrated his 1st birthday and was baptized.

Dad, Mom, Rev. Donny, Keith, Corbin and Angela

Corbin had a Brewer themed birthday party.

This picture pretty much sums up the gift opening experience. Corbin liked the bows better than the presents.

Here is Corbin riding one of the many cool big boy toys he received.

Growing up

This is just a funny picture of Corbin eating mac and cheese for the first time. He seemed to like it... I've only given it to him once or twice since then... it's a mess to clean up! Also, notice how long his hair is. John had been after me for a while to get Corbin's hair cut. I didn't want to because I didn't want him to look like a big boy quite yet. Dad won though, check out the next pic.

Here is Corbin after his first hair cut. He did a great job letting "Bobby" cut his hair with scissors. No electric clipper for this little boy. He looks so big now, I'm still sad about it!

John and Corbin went on their first guys weekend while I was working a few weeks back. They enjoyed being outside seeing nature even though the weather didn't cooperate. Hopefully they can do it again before snow falls, they had a great time together.

Trip to MN

While I was on vacation from work Corbin and I made a trip to MN to see Papa and Nana. We were able to enjoy some pool time thanks to the scortching hot weather. We also caught up with my family and a couple of friends while we were there.

Corbin sitting on the steps of Papa and Nana's pool for the first time.

Corbin was intrigued by Papa's boots so Nana thought she'd help him try them on.
Thanks for a fun four days Papa and Nana...

Corbin's new favorite places

Again, it's been a while since my/our last post...

Many exciting things have happened and continue to happen at our house as Corbin started crawling and is now getting into plenty of mischief.

Thank God for railings... this is one of Corbin's favorite places! He loves to throw his toys down the stairs and watch Daddy and Mommy pick them up, it's a fun game of peek-a-boo too.

Here is another of Corbin's favorite places... Dash's food and water bowls. It's official, Corbin has eaten dog food. In fact, he seemed to really like it, he tries multiple times a day to find more!
The "bubble wash" is a car wash magnet game that Corbin loves to play with. He dances to the tunes but mostly likes to bang the magnets off the kitchen floor. I find myself singing along to the music, it's kinda catchy :-)

Our first family outing to the park happened recently. We think this will also be one of Corbin's favorite places to hang... he absolutely loved the baby swing.

It's been a while...

Since our last post Corbin has been attempting to feed himself... Here's what happened when Mommy left him alone to go do some dishes.

He's also started to rock back and forth on all fours... it won't be long and our world will be torn apart!

We survived!

We recently took a trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. We didn't know what to expect on the plane rides (there were 4 of them) or in the heat.

We were pleasantly surprised at how well Corbin did on each of the plane rides. He didn't make a peep and when he finally got comfortable he slept. We couldn't have asked for anything better.

Turns out the heat in Punta Cana isn't like the heat here. It's super humid but not in the take-away-your-breath kind of way. My hair didn't frizz at all, just felt damp all the time... and nothing ever dried out. Corbin didn't seem to mind the weather at all. He even escaped without so much as a hint of a tan :-)

Below are two pics from vacation.

Daddy taking Corbin in the ocean for the first time... Hopefully Corbin will learn to love the ocean as much as his Daddy cuz Mommy sure doesn't! You can't see it in this picture but Corbin didn't like the cold water at first. Each time we put his legs in he would lift his right one up and put it on the left one like a flamingo. It was pretty cute!

Here Corbin is just chillin on the beach checkin' out the topless babes and the Europeans wearing speedos!

Spring is here!

Since my last post Corbin has changed a lot! He can now roll over and roll back, he used to get stuck on his tummy... We would find him in his crib on his stomach mad as heck, grunting, with both arms and both legs in the air (like a belly flop would look if he was jumping into water). It was pretty comical actually :-)

Corbin is sitting like a champ, he only banged his head twice so far. Both for Mommy of course, once his forhead off the ottoman of the glider and second the back of his head on the floor when he flung his body backward in his excitement. My nurse friends can identify with me checking his neuro status and his sleep after each of these episodes... luckily these were just two of many bumps and bruises the guy will have in his lifetime.

The biggest news is TEETH! Corbin has two little toofers sticking out of his gums on the bottom... YAH! I am such a lucky Mom... my child is so well behaved and even tempered, he only cries when he is hungry and is almost always happy. I've been attributing his recent "crabbiness" (a little discontent/fussiness once or twice in the last month) to his 6 month shots. Looks like I was wrong, he was teething, I guess he's got a lot to teach me!

More pictures and video to come...

Water fun

Corbin found his feet! He recently had a growth spurt in length (instead of weight) and can finally see his legs sticking out from under his belly... Here he is in the bath tub playing with his new toys (his feet) instead of his ducks.
We had the chance to get away and enjoy some time at Chula Vista in Wisconsin Dells. Corbin loved the water (his expression says it all) and was completely exhausted after about an hour.

Dancin' Dancin'

Corbin shares his parents love of music. It turns out he's got the best rhythm out of the three of us! Watch him groove to Daddy's tunes.

Corbin 4-5 Months

My last post before I can just update daily happenings...

In December we started putting Corbin in his exersaucer... this new toy quickly became his favorite! He loves to move and groove in it and look at himself in the mirror (a boy after his father).

It's no secret how much time John spends in the bath tub. We thought it would be a good idea to get Corbin some sort of float toy for those evenings when Mommy is at work and Daddy wants to take a bath. Turns out Corbin shares his fathers love of the bath tub, check out these photos.

Corbin had to have surgery to drain a fluid collection in his scrotum (it sounds worse than it was). The surgeon took a look at his legs and said "this kid has biscuit poisoning". I think biscuit poisoning is another way to say your kid is FAT! So surgery is over and all is well but Corbin is still a chubby, chubby baby!

Corbin Months 1-3

In further effort to catch up the blog I am going to post a few "eventful" things that happened in Corbin's first 5 months...

We had all the normal firsts... first bath, first photo shoot and of course, the first time Mom and Dad got peed on.
Other firsts included our first road trip to MN to see Papa and Nana, our second road trip to ND to see Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Great Grandparents Zerr, and Daddy's first diaper change (notice this is farther down the "firsts" list than one would have expected, it happened on November 1st, that's right, when Corbin was almost 10 weeks old!).

Corbin was a pumpkin for Halloween and was too cute in his costume...
I started back to work just as Corbin was turning 3 months old so he had his first day at daycare too.

Catching up

I am going to attempt to cram the first five months of Corbin's life into a few posts...

Corbin Joseph Williams was born on August 25th, 2008 at 5:24 am weighing 7 pounds 6 ounces and meauring 19.5 inches. He made his Mommy suffer through 28... yes, that's right, 28, hours of labor before he entered the world... with help! Papa and Nana Zerr and Grandma Sandy were in the delivery room, and Daddy too of course.

Before Corbin was born John said he wasn't going to cut the cord but when the time came he was all about it.

We didn't have Corbin's name picked out before he was born, there were 3 names we had in mind. Something about a little smirk he had on his face helped us choose.

Blog challenged!

So... I created this blog before "Baby Williams" was born so I could keep everyone up to date on his accomplishments... turns out Mommy is blog challenged. All these months its taken me to figure out how to get a cute background, add pictures (currently there aren't any pictures of Corbin and he's the reason I created this blog in the first place) and maybe one day a video...

I hope I can keep up with this now that I figured it out, wish me luck!
